That Time of Year Again

I have been trying to avoid it, but it is that time of year again - The Christmas Season. I am not a big fan of Christmas, not that I'm not a big fan of Christ, but all the hoop-la doesn't excite me or put me in the "Christmas Spirit." I have been trying to pretend that it wasn't happening. Every time I walk into a store I try to not notice the Christmas decorations, signs, presents. I no longer listen to FM 100 or KOSY 106.5 (and have actually taken them off my presets in my car and radio at home) so that I don't inadvertently hear a Christmas song. I was avoiding buying presents and reluctantly gave my mother an idea of what to get me. But, I can't avoid it anymore. Tonight Mandy put up her Christmas tree and on Friday all of the decorations will come out. Riverton City put up the Christmas decorations that go on the light poles. And yesterday, I actually bought a Christmas present. Congratulations Alina, you were the first. (Although I have known what I was going to get her for about 2 months, but was avoiding the whole thing).

If you want to know why I am not a big fan of the "Christmas Season" read this post from last year. But don't worry, if you read that post, you will know that I'm not completely hopeless.

So, now I'm ready. Bring it on! While most people are counting down to the actual event, I count down to when all this fuss is over with. 29 days, I think.

I was wondering if you were a fan of Christ - I'm glad you cleared that one up :) Plus, you are going to love the Christmas gift I got you. It should be arriving in the mail any day now. Then it can go under our tree. Yay!!

I think you almost have to overlook all the commercialism and just enjoy the season for what it really means. All those things can still remind you of Christmas and Christmas is all about Christ. :)
