First Purchase

So, after years of abstaining from the practice of shopping on "Black Friday," I actually went out and bought something today. I bought a washer and dryer for my future home. Now, I don't know where that home will be or when I will move in, but I know it will be this spring. I just couldn't pass up the great deals.

I bought a Samsung washer and dryer combo at Sears. They were originally about $1999 together, but I bought them for $999. Not too bad. The washer is 4.0cu capacity and the dryer is 7.3cu capacity. (I didn't get the stands. I don't know how big my washing room will be.)
It was funny, because I worked at Sears and I know how it works. So, I just walked in, stood in the middle of the washers, and looked around for a salesperson, not at a washer. I waited about 30 seconds, caught they eye of a salesman, and withing 2 minutes was buying away. I think it is a little shocking for some people because who buys such a big purchase so quickly? But, I knew exactly what I wanted and didn't need to be "sold" into buying anything. Why waste my time being told about a product I already know I want?

The best part is that they can hold off on delivering them for up to six months. So, even though I don't have a place to live and no where to put the washer and dryer, it is all okay because they have a home in the Sears warehouse. Yea for Sears!

Congratulations! This was our first household purchase too. You won't want to do without. I'm so excited for you and your new home! Do you have any ideas as to a color scheme for your kitchen? Just doing some planning myself for your new home. ;)
