Curse the Stairs!!!

So, for like 8 years I lived on the 2nd and 3rd floors of buildings. For 8 years, I never once fell. However, in the 2.5 years I have lived with Mandy, I have fallen many times. And I fell yet again coming down the stairs last night, but this time it was the worst. I was four steps from making it safely down, when my legs literally flew out from under me and I landed on my ass. I was also carrying a cup full of water, which consequently went flying all over me and the floor, oh and the banisters. I cleaned it up and stomped off to bed. But boy did my behind hurt. I woke up this morning with intense pain in my behind and up my right side of my lower back. I didn't go to work and instead went to instacare. The doctor basically said to me, "Ouch. Maybe you should be more careful." AS IF I ENJOY FALLING DOWN THE STAIRS!!! Then he said that because of the bruising (oh yeah, there is definitely bruising) and the tenderness that he thinks I either bruised or sprained the bone. Maybe even a hairline fracture, but nothing worse. He told me to do three things:

  1. Take Ibuprofen (nope he wouldn't give me a prescription for anything else)
  2. Ice my ass (every two hours)
  3. Try not to sit down (really my 2nd job is data entry, where I have to sit down!) He kindly suggested one of those donut things to sit on. Yeah right.
I definitely want a 1 level condo to live in. I actually had never even fallen down stairs until I moved here, so I am blaming the stairs. I am a klutz, but there has to be something wrong with these. Like they are too short or the carpet is extra slippery.

So, I'm reading this at work, and I'm trying so hard not to laugh out loud at "ice my ass"... That's too funny!!!!

Yes, blame the carpet. You sound a little like one of our students =)
